A-level Chemistry Proton NMR Construction Kit - learning resource - with answers

This bespoke resource is excellent for the teaching and learning of NMR spectra. Students use the pre-drawn scale and set of peaks (singlets, doublets, triplets and quartets) to construct the spectrum of the set of target molecules before checking them against the answers. The students learn how the spectrum comes about before then moving on to interpreting spectra in later lessons. They learn how fragments such as CH3CH2 lead to triplet and quartet patterns, CH2CH2 to triplet, triplet etc.

In practical terms, for group work these are best blown up onto A3 and laminated so they can be used over and over, but they work equally well on A4 with an individual who needs to work independently on the topic.
