I am pleased to add a series of Paper 1 KS4 intervention sessions designed for my reluctant leaners at K34.
Students work independently (or as a whole class). They watch a specific video based on the extract and then they read and annotate the extract.
The lessons are really engaging and focus on some really engaging extracts/clips - Halloween, Jaws, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Harry Potter, The Man Eaters of Tsavo, Cujo by Stephen King, ‘IT’ by Stephen King.
These sessions have worked miracles with my reluctant learners and they have all improved their reading ages.
These sessions are desinged for older learners as the clips/extracts are aimed at an older audience.
