This teaching resource explains the work Dr Peter Wizinowich, based at W. M. Keck Observatory in Hawaii, an engineer who specialises in optical sciences in astrophysics. His work involves using adaptive optics to improve the imaging capabilities of some of the world’s largest telescopes.

This resource also contains an interview with Dr Wizinowich.

The activity sheet provides ‘talking points’ (based on Bloom’s Taxonomy) to prompt students to reflect on Dr Wizinowich’s work and links to fin out more about W.M. Keck Observatory.
