These activities help pupils to practise adding and subtracting mentally.

1. Bar Models / Four Fact Families. Pupils use mental addition and subtraction together with their understanding of inverse operations to complete the bars and their associated 4 calculations. 2 pages (2 digit and 3 digit) plus answers.

2. Five in a line. Mental Addition and Subtraction - 2 self checking partner games - 2 digit and 3 digit.

The next five files each have 18 flip cards.
3-7. Each 18 Flip Cards: Print Double Sided (Back to Back) onto Card.
a. Work with partner and flip when you both have an answer.
b. Work on own and ask partner to flip and check your answers.
c. Work independently against a timer.
d. Make your own Easy, Hard, Harder Flip Cards.

Add further challenge by mixing sets of flip cards together.
