PSHE Alcohol awareness lesson and questions to be used with KS4 onwards. The lesson explores the choices to be made about drinking, the short and long term health impacts, potential dangers and modern day risks of spiking and then tips on how to reflect upon and reduce drinking.

Warning - Videos are included from BBC Teach and Drinkaware that discuss sexual assault due to the vulnerability caused by excessive drinking.

This resource is created with a Big Question and So What (context hook) in mind. I have used a TEEP planning cycle to structure the Power Point led lesson to include a Prepare to Learn (outside thinking task or activity), clear Learning Intents, New Information, Application of Knowledge tasks and then a Review.

As always with my resources I try to engage the students thinking by using real world examples, videos, pictured and current news items to help them to make links and think outside of the topic.

This lesson could easily be adapted to suit younger years and I have tried to offer easy to see ways to differentiate the learning by outcome, reflection or extended thinking.

Power Point would be easy to use, adapt or create extended resources / worksheets for.

Video links are recent and current to time of making 2022.
