This All About Me questionnaire is for students of a new subject or form class to complete so that the teacher can get to know them on a personal level. It is a great tool for classroom management and can be referred to at any stage.
A timer of 10 minutes is displayed on the board and the teacher can walk around the room, gauging students’ behaviour and attitudes towards the activity. Students then hand in their questionnaires and the teacher can read them and make notes at a later stage. If they want to, the teacher could also share a few facts about themselves to build rapport with the class.
If there is a popular choice of sport, book or TV show amongst the class, the teacher could adapt future lessons to include a worked example or picture relative to this information. This is a powerful way to engage students and link their interests with the subject matter.
It can be differentiated by changing the type of questions, number of questions or the language used. A Spanish version has also been uploaded; students could be asked to complete it in a different language or EAL students could be asked to complete it in their home language.
