Welcome to an engaging middle school lesson plan, focused on the Treasures of Tutankhamun’s Tomb. In this lesson plan, students will explore the artefacts found in the tomb of the ancient Egyptian king Tutankhamun, which British archaeologist Howard Carter discovered in 1922.

Through our specially designed worksheet, “Treasures of Tutankhamun’s Tomb,” students will work in pairs or groups of three to choose an artefact from the provided table, research it, and present their findings to the class. This activity will promote critical thinking and research skills while allowing students to learn about different types of artefacts found in the tomb, including furniture, jewellery, and even food.

Some of the most remarkable artefacts found in the tomb, such as the golden mask of Tutankhamun, the throne made of gold and ebony, and the chariot made of special wood covered in gold, are of significant cultural and historical importance. They offer a glimpse into the ancient Egyptian civilisation’s art, craftsmanship, and religious beliefs.

By the end of this lesson plan, students will have gained a deep appreciation for the cultural and historical significance of Tutankhamun’s tomb and the artefacts found inside it. They will also have honed their research and presentation skills, which will be useful in a wide range of subjects.
