Within this resource, I have included a Topic Cover page (which includes targeted vocabulary and key facts) and a scheme of work which shows the progression of knowledge and learning intentions.
The main focuses:
- Paganism
- Conversion to Christianity
- Influences to Literature (Beowulf and The Hobbit).
These lessons have been taught for a Year 5 class both in the classroom and via remote learning.
At the end of the unit, the children will complete an assessment task which looks to answer the question that the unit has been designed around - How did beliefs change in the Dark Ages?
It has been taught with a 6 week half term in mind, but could be condensed into a shorter unit.
