These are the notes that I made in the 2017/18 academic year, following the NEW AQA curriculum for A-Level geography.
These notes are summarised mainly from the AQA textbook.
The resource contains:
- A main resource that contains the content covered in the water and carbon cycles module. This includes a couple of ‘mini’ case studies that are applicable to specific areas of the topic.
- A case study of the River Exe, a useful example of how humans have affected the water cycle.
- A case study of the Exmoor Mires Project, an example of peatland restoration and its benefits.
- A cast study of the Amazon rainforest - this is a great example to use for either the water or carbon cycle and the impacts of humans on them.
- A glossary of important key words that can be found in the main resource.
This resource is not a comprehensive cover of the water and carbon module, however it can be used as a good starting point or support for concept consolidation.

Many thanks,
Sam
