This is the fourth lesson in the second unit of work on Christianity for the new AQA A GCSE course.

The lesson contains a variety of tasks which are differentiated and challenging. All resources/links have been attached and teaching tips have been written in the notes at the bottom of each slide.

The learning outcomes for this lesson are:

Describe why baptism is an important ritual within Christianity and the different forms it can take.

Consider the similarities and differences between infant and believers baptism and why one may be seen as more important than the other.

Evaluate the idea of baptism – do you think that all Christians should take part in it? Why/why not?

For all video clips, resources and teaching tips for how to deliver the activities effectively, please see the notes section at the bottom of every slide. These lessons have been designed for you to 'pick up and go' so there is no preparation work other than printing required (the final lesson requires you to print the assessment from the AQA website but I have created a 'mock up' cover sheet which is appropriate for a 24 mark assessment). I will be adding the next unit's lesson on 'Islam: beliefs and teachings' shortly and these will be available in a separate bundle. Every lesson is ready to pick up and teach with occasionally some printing involved for resource sheets. The printing tasks can normally be avoided if required as you can display information/worksheets on the board instead.
