Thanks, very useful. Important to note what tdgray said thought. A doorway definitely does not reflect light. The wavelength of light is on the order of nm so to the light it is as if there is no doorway because the gap is so large so they would pass straight through but without being diffracted thus casting a shadow as explained by tdgray.
