Mahmoud Yacoub is an author with the pen name of Adam Yacoub, graduated from Al-Azhar University, which is considered the oldest continuously functioning university in the world.
Al-Azhar's doors were opening in 972 CE. In the 1960s, Al-Azhar University expanded its curriculum to include modern subjects such as applied sciences, college of medicine as well as linguistics and Islamic studies.
