Arctic Reading Year 2 Key Stage 1

2 resources which can be used either in guided reading, as a whole class or just for 1 or 2 groups at a time.

Both resources provide an introduction to the Arctic.

Green and blue resource is more focused on igloos, what they are and how to build them followed by a short story related to building an igloo. This resource is aimed at year 2 children who are working at age related. The 2 types if text contained within one booklet are reminiscent of what they will encounter in SATS.

Orange and yellow resource is focused more on arctic animals and gives a few facts about each animal. The information is arranged into paragrapghs and children can then answer questions about what they have read in the paragraph. This resource is aimed at high ability year 1 children or year 2 children who are working around 1d or 1s.
