Area and Perimeter Problem Solving Activity for most able Year 5- 6

Nice little problem solving activity to consolidate knowlege of area and perimeter. Children need to already have a solid understanding of area and perimeter before tackling this challenge as it doesn’t talk them through it again.
Suggestion: My class did this in pairs and used an A3 squared sheet to present their ‘zoo’. They had a great time ensuring all the animals were well catered for and this was used as a display afterwards.

This acitivity gives a real-world use for area and perimeter that the children enjoy.
