I used this recipe with my classes regularly at various times - the slow cooker used was at the back of the room safely. Sometimes for various themes including Harvest, bonfire night, autumn or winter, literacy instruction writing and sequencing, measuring and counting and sometimes linked to the story ‘Stone soup’. It was great for Healthy eating PSHE links and DT links with cooking as well. It makes enough for all the kids to have a taste (1/3 of a cup each…some obviously loved it and some didn’t but gave them a chance to try something new. I used to send a copy of the recipe home too so parents knew what we were cooking and also the kids who liked it had a copy.
