This lesson is written for Edexcel B GCSE Geography. Within the UK's evolving human landscape topic Birmingham is our UK city study. The lesson draws upon student's prior learning of the Burgess model. Students consider representations of Birmingham, locate the city in terms of it's situation, then explore several different areas across the city through photos and population census data (textbook referred to is Oxford's Edexcel B GCSE Geography). Google street view and other census data could be used to explore the areas further.
