Total 12 week term SOW for Blood Brothers suitable for KS3 (not GCSE spec). Ties in to the concept of secrets and lies and justification of reason.
10 blocks of lessons plus resources. Focus on the socialist aspect of the play; using the arts to spread a political message, protest songs (poetry); ethical debate around capital punishment; analytical writing (devloping for KS4); bias - recognising and writing.
I teach this to Y9. (You might be able to adapt some of it to make it suitable for KS4.)
