BSW ocean acidification and density column lessons

2 lessons based on investigative skills.

Ocean acidification includes 2 practicals/demos and really brings home to all students the importance of maintaining the correct pH in our oceans. Features pH scale, graph interpretation (differentiated) and has been used, sucessfully, as an interview lesson (by myself and colleagues!)

The density lesson is a fun way of explaining the concept of density using practical skills. I have done this lesson with both SEN students and higher ability students. Obviously the higher ability explanation must be of greater depth!
