This scheme of work is 5 lessons long it uses the film "Dead Man Walking" to investigate the Christian views on the death penalty. There are various tasks where the Bible and Christian teachings are looked at. It focuses the students on what they think of the death penalty. Includes an assessment mark and feedback RAG sheet.

The first lesson uses the short film of Sister Helen Prejean from Amnesty International. If you don't have it, then it is available on line.

You will need a copy of the Dead man walking DVD, all timings are included to explain where to pause the film. There is a teacher's guide to help with what you should be focusing on during the lessons.
