Hi all!
This resource is targeted at Year 7s, but could also be used for Year 8 depending on how you deem appropriate. This resource has 54 slides including:
An introduction to atoms (A bit of history + science discovery)
Introduction + Explanation of Atoms, Elements, Compounds and Mixtures
An introduction to the periodic table ( how it’s split up and how we read it)
Understanding the difference between elements and compounds, i.e, where Co and CO look the same.
Introduction to the three states of matter and how we change between them (includes explanations taking about energy transfers).
Understanding temperature with pure and impure substances (melting point + boiling points).

This resource includes activities following the introduction of a new concept but, fear not, each activity has answers! I also have a few lesson pointers + ideas in the ‘speaker’s notes’.
