Christmas Assembly

Darryl from Insight, the Kingston Churches Schools Work, speaks about Christmas, in this engaging 12 minute video available for you to use for free in your school assemblies. After thinking about a modern Christmas, we look at the Christian Christmas Story and reflect on the coming from Heaven to Earth of the baby Jesus Christ. We ask the questions: Who is Jesus Christ? Why did he come here? And what did he do when he was here? Christmas is such a big festival in the church because it marks the time when the person of God the Son came to live among us as a baby. He came to fix our broken world and bring his people back into a right relationship with their God - one that will last forever. Not everything in our world has been fixed by the first coming of Jesus Christ but the work has begun in the lives of Jesus’ people and will ultimately come to it’s fulfilment when he comes back from heaven to earth for a second time. This video is told from a Christian perspective on behalf of the churches of Kingston Upon Thames and we hope that you will find it a helpful introduction to the concepts of Christmas and the Incarnation of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
