Class Assembly - Happiness

This ready-to-use assembly script combines humour, science and life lessons to teach students about happiness, gratitude and the value of relationships. The assembly contrasts the responses of centenarians and teenagers to the question, “What makes you happy?” and features a ‘teacher joke-off’ alongside the story of a greedy King’s clerk, building towards an important message: true happiness comes from friendships and appreciating what we have, not from material possessions.

The resource incorporates scientific research showing that expressing gratitude makes both the giver and receiver happier, offering a natural segue into further PSHE work on empathy, kindness and well-being.
