Compare 4-digit numbers - Place Value activity

Focus: to compare 4-digit numbers.

/Insert headteacher’s name/ wants to order furniture for Class 6 so that it looks like Class 7- and she needs your help!
You must choose the cheapest option for each piece of furniture.

1. Look at /Insert headteacher’s name/ shopping list and choose an item.
2. Look at the prices for that item.
3. Write each number on a place value chart to compare the numbers.
4. Decide which is the cheapest item. This is the lowest price, so the lowest number.
5. Add the item and price to your order form.
