This worksheet consists of two pages, the latter being more challenging as it involves higher numbers.
I enlarged the sheets to A3 and began the lesson with shopping role play where pupils had to buy oversized items from me using giant money. We counted out two pence pieces and children had to pretend that they had 2ps stuck to each of their fingers to introduce this new concept.
Children worked in pairs and counted out 2ps until they had sufficient for each purchase. They then drew around the correct number in the space to the right-hand side of the item - this was the reason for having A3 sheets.

A simple practical activity for children to choose and draw around 2p coins to match the price of objects. Can be used in role play which children will enjoy. Suitable for Y1 and 2.

Really helpful. Thank you so much for saving me some time with this great resource. Will be using it with my post 16 students (SLD) to relate it to the shopping trips we take every week.
