Creative Writing lesson - Shoes

Introduction to character development, by looking at a selection of shoes. Use the PP to introduce the task, then use each picture as a carousel placemat, for each group to annotate. Each group should use a different colour pen to write their annotations, and each picture should be annotated with every colour. Give pupils 2 minutes per placemat, get them to be as creative as they possibly can. Plenary: Get the groups to write an introduction to a short story, which uses the final character picture they are left with. They must include the information that has been annotated onto the sheet.
