Creative Writing - SPAG - Punctuation - Colon and Semi-Colon

A succinct and focused lesson on the accurate use of colons and semi-colons. The lesson goes through some rules and examples, then assesses knowledge/understanding before providing opportunities for this learning to be put in to their writing. There are AFL opportunities throughout the lesson. A picture stimulus and writing formula is used to equip weaker writers and to provide them with a starting point. It is aimed at KS3+4 - I use it with everyone from Y7 to 11, depending on their needs. I daresay KS2 could also make use of this, although I have never tried. It is also useful for AO6 in the new AQA English Language GCSE Section B Writing Paper 1 and Paper 2.
