Dan's Diary - Writing a recount

An imaginary recount with comprehension and creative work based on it.

This set of three worksheets comprises of an imaginary recount, completed in the style of a diary kept by a young person on a cycling tour, a worksheet asking questions about the diary and a worksheet requiring the children to complete the diary in a similar style.

The diary covers the first few days of Dan’s cycle tour where he stays at Youth Hostels and writes about the things he sees and the people he meets. There are blank sections where the children can add their own diary entries to complete the diary.

The diary could be printed out, with the children writing their additions on the sheets or they could complete the task electronically by typing in the blank sections.
