Debate Topics with Pros/Cons Table

Debate is an important and often underdeveloped skill in schools today, with students often struggling to view both sides of developing key arguments. This resources contain 6 appropriate debate topics with a handy topic to list three arguements for the statement and three arguments against.

This resources can be used in several ways. One method of utilising the sheet is having the class split off into six groups, and fill in the pros/cons of one issue. Afterwards, the class can share their ideas whilst the other pupils fill in their ideas. This could lead to a speech, letter or presentation creation exercise. Another way is using it as a homework resources, and encoiraging pupils to research each issue to form pros/cons for each debate.
