Decimal Lessons

7 lessons that focus on using decimals in different ways.

Division - A lesson that focuses on being able to divide decimal numbers as well as some questions that focus on carrying through to a decimal number from the remainder. Included is an arithmetic starter and an 12x starter. Also included is a worksheet that has practise and challenge questions and answers included.

Multiplication - A double lesson that focuses on being able to multiply decimal numbers. There are two lessons within, focussing on different aspects as well as an arithmetic starter and an 12x starter for the second lesson where issues from the first lesson can be addressed. Also included is a worksheet that has practise and challenge questions and answers included. In the second lesson, children can then spend time responding to any mistakes they made in the first lesson.

Addition and subtraction - A double lesson that focuses on being able to use decimal addition and subtraction. There are two lessons within, focussing on different aspects as well as an arithmetic starter and an 11x starter for the second lesson where issues from the first lesson can be addressed. Also included is a worksheet that has practise and challenge questions and answers included. In the second lesson, children can then spend time responding to any mistakes they made in the first lesson. There is also a place value grid to support children who require it.

Place Value - A lesson that recaps decimal place value. Included are different style questions to work through independently before then working through answers as a class as a continuous check. There is also a place value grid to support learning.

Multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 - A lesson that focuses on being able to multiply and divide by 10, 100 or 1000. Taught as an arithmetic style lesson that focuses mainly on the practice of the skill with questions and answers to self-check. There is also an 11x starter and some challenge questions for those that finish and place value grid to support learning.
