Describing and Comparing Size

This lesson plan aligns with Oklahoma academic standards PK.GM.2.1 and PK.GM.2.2 in which students will use age-appropriate vocabulary to describe measurements of an object. Begin by explaining the concepts of big, small, long, short, heavy, and light by using the visuals in the first three sheets. Engage your students by asking them to name examples of objects to go with each adjective discussed in this lesson. An assessment is provided. In this assessment, they will compare measurements of objects, which covers standard PK.GM.2.2. Use this to informally assess students in a group or informally assess them individually.
