DISTANCE , TIME AND SPEED

Teach distance, time and speed with this easy to execute resource that offers your students the opportunity to discover their own walking speed and practice solving speed distance and time problems sets. The resource may be used as part of an ongoing lesson or a way to review at the end of the unit.

The resource comes in two parts:

PART 1: How fast do you walk Activity.

In this part, students collaborate in pairs to measure the time they take to walk a known distance. From the data they will calculate their average speeds and answer related questions.

PART 2 : Practice Question Worksheet

In this part, students will answer 10 questions to practice calculations involved in speed, distance and time.

OPTIONAL : Practice Question TASK CARDS

Instead of the individual worksheets for the practice questions, you may give to student groups a set of task cards ( 12 questions in total). This activity encourages collaboration and peer support.
