This resource has been designed for students working towards Functional Skills Maths qualifications at Entry Level 3 (Edexcel-Pearson, NCFE, City and Guilds and Open Awards) . It contains an age-appropriate, 145-slide PowerPoint lesson and a 40-page workbook on division - Outcome 3: Divide three-digit whole numbers by single and double digit whole numbers and express remainders.
The resources have been designed to enable pupils to achieve these outcomes:
divide a two-digit whole number by a one-digit whole number and express remainders
use and interpret division in real-life situations for solving problems

The 40-page workbook contains 16 information/explanation pages, 21 worksheets (with answers), 2 progress checks and a certificate of achievement.
The resource is available in PDF format and an editable PowerPoint version to enable personalisation and editing of the resource. It can be used for classwork, homework, revision or as an independent learning pack.
PowerPoint Lesson
This editable 145-slide PowerPoint clearly explains how to divide using the short division or bus stop method of division with remainders and decimal remainders. It explains how to carry out division with a calculator. It also contains many everyday life word problems that require division to solve them. Many opportunities are provided within the PowerPoint for pupils to practice their division skills. The PowerPoint also contains links to three videos on division and example division exam questions.
It is an ideal resource to introduce the division component of the Entry Level 3 specification and for revision purposes.
