Can you crack the DNA sequence? Students transcribe the DNA sequence into mRNA and then translate the mRNA into an amino acid sequence. If they use the single amino acid letter code it will spell a message. On the second page, the same DNA sequence is there to be transcribed and translated but each time it contains an example of a specific mutation and this allows pupils to see how the mutation can affect the polypeptide sequence produced.
