A colourful, super clear powerpoint (52 slides) that takes students through the reading paper for Edexcel GCSE Language Paper 2.
The powerpoint is really detailed and it takes me two hours to teach it to a class, especially if I ask them to write every answer. Activities are very structured to allow all students to be able to access the questions. I have included indicative content, sample paragraphs, and part answers to model how to get the maximum marks.
The texts used are accessible and engaging: Orwell’s account of shooting an elephant and an extract from the autobiography of the head keeper of London Zoo in 1898.
The powerpoint is excellent preparation for mocks but could also be used for Year 9 students beginning on their pathway to GCSE.
