ESSON 9-10: This resource concludes a series of resources (10 lessons on this topic) and focuses on the Fortnite website and socials. This is the new assessed Gaming text as of 2021. This lesson includes:

-STARTER: HAVE THE FORESIGHT TO STUDY THE WEBSITE OF FORNITE!= Using the resource provided and a guided tour of the homepage on the board, let’s go through what terms we can assign to the screengrab. Do not write on your sheet until we have solidified each. I then want an arrow, heading and a definition. Keep this neat as it will be great for revision.

TASK 1: SMASH AND SCREENGRAB I will now issue you with screengrabs from the Official Fortnite website. These will get stuck into your folder for future reference. Ensure to make notes in the box provided on each sheet as these will serve as revision notes for your exam. The class will feedback their observations, so ensure to consider all of the Industry and Audience concepts we have looked at so far.

-Analysis slide on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts for ‘Fortnite’.

-4A-D END OF UNIT ASSESSMENT.

THIS RESOURCE INCLUDES PRINTABLE POWER POINT SLIDES FOR STUDENTS TO WORK ON, A RESOURCE SHEET AND AN END OF UNIT ASSESSMENT.

NOTE: I am following EDUQAS Teaching Model 1 in my teaching/ SOW. Each lesson is laid out as I teach my own class but I have added notes at the bottom of some of the slides e.g. on the Media Teaser, to aide teachers. All lessons are developed with differentiation, assessment/challenge as well as engagement entrenched heavily within all my resources. Moreover, constant reference is made throughout to the selected Examiner Media.
