‘Engineering a better world’ resource pack is a series of activities, practical tasks and discussion points that invite young learners to explore the role that young engineers and entrepreneurs play in developing innovations that will bring social and environmental benefits to different countries across sub-Saharan Africa.

The resource box pulls together science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects through thematic learning and collaborative activities. It has been designed to provide practical and contextualised applications to demonstrate the role that STEM-based learning plays in global real-world engineering scenarios.

The resource explores the STEM behind a selection of Africa Prize for Engineering Innovations and asks students to investigate the link between the Sustainable Development Goals and engineering. More on the Africa Prize can be found on the Royal Academy of Engineering’s website.

Please visit the STEM Resources area of the Royal Academy of Engineering’s website (found within the Education and Skills section) for a handy set of booklets and videos providing guidance on how to plan and use each of the activities.
