This resource has been designed for students working towards Entry Level 2 Functional Skills English certification. It contains an age-appropriate, 60-slide PowerPoint lesson and an 18-page workbook on the Entry Level 2 writing component -using basic punctuation correctly.

Punctuation PowerPoint

The PowerPoint explains when the full stops, question marks and exclamation marks. It provides many examples and opportunities for pupils to identify the correct punctuation required for sentences. The PowerPoint is ideal for introducing the punctuation component of the Entry Level 2 Skills specification and for revision purposes.

Punctuation Workbook

The 18-page workbook contains 4 explanation pages, 12 worksheets (with answers), a progress check and a certificate of achievement on the Entry Level 2 writing component - use basic punctuation correctly (e.g. full stops, capital letters, question and exclamation marks).

Tasks and activities include:

Starting sentences with a capital letter
Marking the end of sentences with a full stop
Using question marks and exclamation marks when appropriate
Correcting sentences

Writing sentences
