EXAM TECHNIQUE MUST - GCSE PE AQA (9-1) Exam prep -how to answer long / extended answer questions

This resource bundle includes a 15 slide powerpoint and two learning mats which can be delivered as 1 or 2 lessons. It also comes complete with resources to aid the session including; example responses to mark, ‘command words’ handout, which breaks down the meaning of each and which objective each command word is asking students to focus on (AO1,AO2,AO3) as recommended by AQA and homework tasks to aid further understanding.

The focus is on how to write 6/6 or 9/9 mark responses to extended answer questions in line with the new AQA GCSE PE course. This PowerPoint has been created based on the new 9-1 specification, it uses the KNOWLEDGE (AO1), APPLY (AO2), SAY WHY (AO3) ‘process’ which students are encouraged to use to help structure responses to long answer questions.

The two learning mats provide worthwhile learning activities which guide students to create a plan for structuring their response before they answer the example questions. it also uses specimen questions and answers to support learning.

This lesson should be taught to KS4 GCSE PE students to enable them to understand the ‘process’ of answering questions and the importance of this paired with the knowledge of content to achieve high grades.
