This resource is an example of a narrative story for Year 5 (possibly 6) which centres around the story, Beowulf.
It begins with Beowulf leaving Heorot to take on Grendel’s mother - the Sea-Hag. He travels across the landscape and then there is a battle scene.
The writing pulls on a wide range of writing features expected at the end of KS2 and could be used as a handout or as a teaching point to display on the board.
If you wish to take sentences from the text and get children to finish or reinvent them, this could be additional SPAG starters too.
Look out for additional Beowulf-related sheets on my site to aid with delivering this writing topic.
