The first most commonly words used in English - perfect for whole school spelling and sight reading. The list contains all of the common exception words specified in the National Curriculum as well as regularly used words representing a variety of spelling patterns, numbers, months of the year, days of the week and contractions.
There is a bonus 100 (so 1100 in total) to incorporate the statutory common exception Year 5 and 6 word list.
This can be used as a progressive whole school spelling or sight reading scheme or just for any teacher keen to develop progress in reading and spelling of the children they teach. A great resource for precision teaching.
This is the result of some blood, sweat and tears in Lockdown 2 as I was frustrated that there wasn’t a 1000 word scheme in English that I could introduce to the children I was supporting in reading and spelling. So I made my own which took several nights and a lot of paper.
