The denominator of a fractions is thought of as how many equal parts is something divided into and the numerator is the count of these parts.
To estimate fractions it is suggested to compare the numerator and the denominator of the fractional number. If the denominator is much larger than the numerator the fraction is estimated to being close to zero, if the denominator is about double of the numerator, the fraction is estimated to being near one half. And if numerator and the denominator is about the same size, then, the fraction can be estimated to being close to one.
