Teaching tenses and especially the pluperfect in French can be difficult but here’s a resource that should help you teach the pluperfect tense in a dynamic way. This introductory lesson is aimed at teenagers and adults but it can be adapted for the needs of children. It contains a powerpoint with 6 slides

1. The lesson starts with a reading activity where students need to identify the verbs and make suggestions about the use and formation of the verbs.
2. The teacher introduces the utilization of the pluperfect tense
3. The teacher introduces the formation of the tense according to the three groups but also the formation with the use of être/avoir and the agreements
