GCSE Eng Lang AQA Paper 1 Sweets Roald Dahl language analysis and Q5 writing task achieve a grade 9

A full lesson of 24 slides and resources looking at Roald Dahl’s Boy extract on sweets and linking it to a piece of descriptive writing describing a sweet shop. This lesson gives tips on how to achieve a grade 9 looking at building word banks and technique banks so that they can feel confident attempting their assessment tasks.

This lesson focuses specifically on language analysis and build up tasks, planning ideas and the descriptive writing task based around creative reading Q2 language analysis on Roald Dahl’s ‘Boy’ and creative writing Q5 describe a sweet shop using a taste test activity to get students to really focus on their senses to describe taste, touch, smells, sights, noises.
