They are all reasonably challenging, and are designed for Level 5 and above (C and above) students.
I find that they serve 2 purposes: they keep a student's proof reading skills sharp (essential, in my view, to get a good mark on the SPaG component of the writing task) whilst also modelling strong creative writing skills (I often use these activities as a foundation for detailed discussions about the strengths and weaknesses of the writing). I have found, particularly with top sets, that modelling the style of the writing in this way dramatically improves the content and sophistication of their creative writing.
