This fun and informative complete lesson covers all content from AQA specification 3.8.4.3 Genetic fingerprinting.

Using a detailed and engaging PowerPoint the students work their way through the content with a range of whole class quizzes, paired and individual activities. The lesson is well structured and uses real life examples of genetic diseases to enhance the learning of the students. Learning starts with an explanation of VNTRs, moves on to the process of genetic fingerprinting and gel electrophoresis, finishing on the uses of DNA fingerprinting. Worksheets are included for students to complete (all answers are present on the PowerPoint or page 2 of the worksheet) with a variety of activities such as keyword recall, individual challenges and answering exam style questions.

The lesson is self-explanatory in that you can simply click through, and it flows through the content. My students have really enjoyed all the lessons in this unit so far, so I hope yours do too!
