Geography Activities Including Oceans, Maps and Globes

Introduce young learners to geography in a fun and easy way with this unit! These geography activities for preschoolers or Kindergarten students are an excellent way to have them learn more about the world around them. The unit is supported by picture books and contains activities for every learning style. The lesson plans include the basic characteristics of maps and globes, learning the names of the oceans, classifying land and water animals, and much more.
The unit is divided into 8 lessons and can be taught over 2 to 8 weeks, depending on the time available. Individual lesson cards are included, along with a materials list, unit overview, 12 student printables, and 4 answer sheets. Several books are suggested to use for additional background information; however, they are not required to teach the unit.
