A case study sheet and lesson based around the consequences of urbanization in global cities. The lesson introduces overall themes of urbanization and the issues it can face. Prior learning is then elicited through 6 differentiated questions of Cardiff with reference to Mumbai (see other resource)
The factsheet of Cardiff focuses on Location, Reasons for Growth, Way of Life and Urban Challenges. I use active reading strategies to engage students. Students then complete an AO3 question, which is discussed in class, looking at comparing the challenges faced by HIC and NIC global cities.
