A high-quality resource to support Key Stage 1 History. Pupils will use historical sources from the Archive collection to compare old and new, and to identify continuity and change in what people eat over the last 100 years. Finding out about typical meals and foods from three periods of the Twentieth century, pupils will compare their own favourites with foods their parents and grandparents would have eaten and will think about why our diets have changed over time. Fun, creative activities provide cross-curricula links to Science, Geography and healthy eating.

This resource includes;

  • a lesson plan and Teacher’s Notes providing guidance for all activities
  • editable PowerPoint classroom slides
  • bespoke short films
  • editable worksheets
  • Archive source pack

The resource also includes a brief introduction to the M&S Archive, explaining the function and purpose of an archive.
