At its height, the Roman Empire ruled over much of Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. In this lesson, students will learn more about the Roman conquest of Britain and Boudicca’s revolt. They will look at the timeline of events, key individuals involved and how Rome conquered Britain.
They will then investigate what led to Boudicca’s revolt and Rome’s response. They will carry out a debate on whether ‘it was wrong for Boudicca to lead a rebellion’ and will write the speech for Boudicca to give to her army before battle.
This lesson is intended for KS2 students but can easily be modified to suit KS3.
