Two full lessons on hot deserts for KS3/KS4 Geography.
Lesson 1 looks at where in the world hot deserts are located, what the climate is like in hot deserts through a climate graph, and how animals are adapted to the hot desert environment looking at a camel. Students finish the lesson by designing their own desert-adapted creature.
Lesson 2 looks at the challenges and opportunities of living in hot desert environments, and focuses on the Thar (India) and Mojave (USA) desert case studies.
Both lesson include a starter, several activities and plenary. All supporting worksheets provided - no additional resources needed.
